I recently read Ted Cadsby’s The 10 Biggest Investment Mistakes Canadians Make and How to Avoid Them by Stoddart Publishing.

The book (among other things) propounds asset allocation as a prime methodology for investing and I generally agree with that approach. However, there was one aspect in the discussion which irritated me because it represents a statistical mistake.  (Okay, okay I should get a life!)  Anyway this statistical mistake occurs in the text and on the cover as a selling point for the book.  (continue reading…)
